What a stressful year right from the start.

SKINNER's feature of bloody 25's first Berlin Fashion Week is a two part piece
with a focus on... please, don't mumble sustainability.

Sustainability is a fantastic thing but it's sufficiently played around with.
For established Designers it means mostly 'has-to-be-dropped-but-just-
together-with-luxury-to-keep-the-clients-and-is-therefore-
an-empty-shell'.

For the New Kids on stage it means 'First show on a desperate budget'.
So no more lies please, especially about the contradiction of being Fashion
and being sturdy, timeless and forever loved.

The best foundation for sustainability is a continuous personal style of the
client, a personal collection of beloved garments, picked with a certain sense
for quality in material and tayloring. Clothes have to rip your eyes
and your heart to survive in your closet.

Nice move when a designer is aware of that, brings it and
that could be felt at Vanessa Baernthol's 'REBUILT'.

To be witness of how dead stock fabrics are pulled out of their coffin and
pumped up with fresh blood brings up a taste for vampiric tayloring.

Be hypnotized by a voluptuous Coat Dress or bring them down in a
Hunters Vest of vegan leather.

Sink your teeth in the good stuff and your personal style will live forever!
