Suddenly it's in the air that the Future might not happen.

For years survival was a matter of climate change or better: fighting the
climate destruction and keeping this old steamboat Earth over water.

Concerning this and the role of Fashion in our decline there was
nothing bad about 'slow'. Designers like Melisa Minca afforded
to have a focus on throttling the speed of Fashion's production cycle
as it was, celebrated in schools where there was preached the dominance
of marketing over creativity.

Then the political balances shifted worldwide.

The spooky growth of the political right in Europe within the last years
got fueled by the shocking result of the 2024 US election and the comeback of
the Yellow King. It was already en vogue again to blame everything different,
strange and diverse for the uncomfortable feel of a fading world's complications.

Since January 20, '25 latest the self-proclaimed world leaders declared
a new fascist etiquette to end all tender progress in diverse equality,
freedom and choice of who and where to be. It's a revival of mobsters, trying
to cut the world in branches, drowning in hostility and easy to blackmail.

Or we won't let them. And here we were at Melisa Minca's Show that combined
highly creative upcycling with an opportunity to let Berlin's diverse society
celebrate identity, equality, friendship in a comforting performance
that felt like a warming hug.
