誓いたてる間もなく
この身を投げ出せ
重責と困憊の
定めには負けじと
破壊の向こう側で
星が白ける
されど他界の道
どうか遠く遠く
(Don't give in to a rule set by
A huge responsibility and an exhaustion)

What makes Brutalism brutal? In Architecture Brutalism is a glamourous paradox. Buildings at least emotionally not made to live in. But you can fill it with your own life, it is not uninhabitable. The price you pay are the sight when you come home from work and the questions from friends if it hurts.
On another page Brutalism in Architecture was an expression of cultural overload, political deformation and progress tearing away from the leash. In it's time it was luxurious, not everything was lost but people were invited to join a collective memento mori.
Everything changed.
I was born into the school of 'form follows function', Bauhaus and shit. Who would have thought that we could reach an era where the debris of formfinding industries is hindering us from an essentially functioning life? That we reach a point where the principle reverses.
We wander through landscapes shaped by mankind's exploding wish for expansion and exploitation. Confused autonomous vehicles are running over us and if we start to riot the robodog army by Boston Dynamics will be ready to rumble. Dystopia got obsolete, we don't need to think up Trusts with curious names, they are invented, we have to deal with them. And we have the politicians that are fulfilling their wishes, we earned them with our ignorance. It's time to dress for that world.
I am pretty sure that Cristian Huygens' creations started as artful emotional reaction on the upcoming challenges. But from the position of invention they have now the chance to redo the process, turning the accessoires of our industrial grave into beautiful weapons by their own design and fuck back.
I am pretty sure that I am just a blink away from buying a Full Body Armour from SLVA that includes a refined EMP-based defense system with inbuild Vibro Blades for a bodycheck with a Tesla Tank. I will stand on the hood of this burning behemoth and look really good. Brutalism can be so much fun.
